Portrait of Ilya Truskovsky

R5  /  About

Composer.
Producer.
The person who mixes it.

Ilya Truskovsky has spent almost two decades writing original scores and records that pair emotional weight with modern sound. Based in Los Angeles for the past ten years, he works where the orchestra and the synthesizer meet — and finishes the job himself, in the mix.

He is the lead sound engineer and mixer for composer Aaron Zigman, contributing to major film scores while building his own body of work as a lead composer — from intimate dramas to otherworldly soundtracks. He also leads a small team of sound specialists in post-production, so a score arrives designed, produced and mixed as one piece.

Originally from Russia, he writes and releases electronic music as MAQ.
